Computational Social Science Workshop: AI and Society – Exploring Inequality in the Digital Age | University of Mannheim, 15–16 May 2025

Two-day interdisciplinary workshop jointly organized by MZES and the Mannheim Centre for Data Science (MCDS). The event brought together scholars from sociology, political science, computer science, economics, communication, digital humanities, and data science to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in computational social science.The workshop focused on how AI, machine learning, and large language models are transforming research on inequality and public policy in the digital age. It provided a platform for academic exchange, networking, and professional development within the computational social science community in the DACH region.
